it was the 25A fuse #25 in the glovebox. Replaced -> works now like a charm :-)

Hey guys, had the same. I am afraid you need to replace the dark mirror. My BMW dealer told me that always dark mirrors are simply broken. They are cheap in eBay.

digging this old thread out because the story is still not over. The "new" gearbox is again broken and was replaced by the dealer. I will have to pay the oil and some "holding rubbers" ...
