That one feeds the A/C, and is an input to the aux fan I believe.

As mentioned above, the temp sensor is screwed into the head, intake side, near the firewall. Royal PITA the replace.

Had a similar issue; replaced a brand new Wahler...

Had a similar issue; replaced a brand new Wahler thermostat with a Behr, no difference.
Replaced the heater valve, as well. Also no change.

Issue turned out to be a broken transmission...
