Havent read the whole thread but its probably the compressor, variable displacement swashplate sticking in the flat position so no compression. Can be intermitent or constant.

I was also going to suggest a look at the valve cover gasket as this is another common leaker but I assume it was replaced...

I noticed that I am getting harsh shifts from 3-4.

The closer to redline the shift, the harsher it gets.

At the lowest possible rpm upshift its all smooth, but as you upshift at a bit higher...

I've never experienced having an amp not turn off before, in factory and aftermarket systems, but I suppose there is a first time for everything...
