My 2003 has seen lots of sun, and it appears that's turned the trim.

It sort shines with multiple colors, I've attached pic.

You may be encountering issues related to your X5...

You may be encountering issues related to your X5 having DSP. To confirm that, I would temporarily hook up loose speakers to the Eonon's speaker level outputs, and listen for audio.

I suppose the logic behind BMW putting this switch to the hood, was due to their expectation that a thief would steal something from under the hood, or try and disable the alarm while it is going...
