Not True. Only BMWs with electrically adjustable seats - if you have manually adjustable seats then you don't get this function.

it's on the key and storing the seat positions and mirrors are as simple as inserting the key and pressing the memory button on the side of the seat. The key also stores the stereo settings as well,...

I had a similar one when I was doing some work. Disconnected the battery and on reconnect - nothing. I pulled the Battery sensor cable and that enabled the car to start, reconnected the battery...

Yep, weight sensor. I believe it needs the weight sensor because of the dual stage deployment air bag. It deploys less if there is a lighter person on the seat (i.e. a child in a child seat).
