Well, not that long ago I had the guides replaced on our 4.4 X5. Car ran great for a few days then the valley pan took a dump, so it sat in the driveway for a few weeks until I decided to fix it....

Getting there. Was surprised to find out I didn't need to remove the vanos solenoids to get the upper timing covers off.

My trick is to use the clutch fan wrench from the top when the valve covers are off. Itís not ideal but works if you have nothing else. Thanks for the tips though!
