Let me put it to you this way, I was making a u turn onto an open road.. Perfect opportunity to open it up.

Just as I straighten out the wheel I go wide open throttle in 1st gear, sport mode.

The power came on so quick that the tach went from idle to Yellow/Red shift, with no linear motion.. It actually jumped right into yellow as soon as I hit the gas.. No lag, no hesitation..

The X5M delivers power faster than it knows what to do with. It delivers power like a sledge hammer.

Are comfort seats an option on the M?

I can't find a way to build the car on BMWUSA's website? Is it available and I'm just missing it?

BTW - I hate those X5M wheels, too. I saw a BMW ad in the latest Road & Track magazine that featured the new X6M. It had awesome wheels. I can't wait to find out what the syle number is and the cost. I may have to look for replicas in a few months.

I just test drove one as well. Unfortunately the test drive was too short to really get a good impression but I did get it up to 100mph on the freeway. I am impressed by the quickness of the auto transmission. But overall I'm not that impressed with the car. I was expecting more from a $100K car.

I think the exhaust sounds like crap. It sounds more like deep V6 rather than a V8. The exhaust on the 4.6is and 4.8is sound MUCH better in comparison.

I have one on order but I'm not sure I'll keep it at this point.

Any direct comparison to the 4.8is or a 4.6is would be greatly appreciated.

Heck even power and thrust comparos to M3/M5 would be great.

Just saying it is sick is not enough.. :)

I got to figure out who is S. FL has one so I can go drive it.

I had a 4.8is and can say the difference in power is almost impossible to comprehend.

The 4.8is was quick and powerful. the ///M is almost as fast as a 911 Turbo.. Comparing them is not really practical.

As far as the exhaust note, I couldn't disagree more with ///MB. At idle, it's pedestrian. At wide open throttle it sounds AMAZING..
