For those of you who have driven the X5M - are you recommending the OEM M-sport seats or are the optional comfort seats the better choice?

Any more pics of the carbon black X5M & interior, Le Mans?

Cheers,

I would love for someone to post pics of one with full leather, if out yet.

Big Easy,
Get the comfort sport seats. Highly recommend them. Had them in my first E60. On my M5 got the M adaptive seats and they are great. The only problem I would see with them on the E70 M is the high difference getting in and out. Seems like the side/thigh bolsters would get ALOT of wear.

lemans, is the 4.8is drive by wire like the E70s? I think that electronic throttle stuff has taken out any raw feeling there ever was. :(

Both the E53 and E70 are drive by wire. For the most part, most BMWs after 2000 are drive by wire.
I believe the minor delay in throttle is a result of the "tip-in" throttle tuning and the engines lower compression ratio for the turbos. On a naturally aspirated engines (or some roots supercharged engines) will give you that neck snapping feel with initial throttle.

I don't think any of the launch cars have the full leather option. They all pretty much have the same options, technology package, premium audio, comfort access, roof rails, auto tailgate and maybe a couple more, bringing the MSRP to the $91-92K range.

Yup, last thing BMW wants is to scare away potential buyers with a fully loaded 100k car.

The options that are seen on the demo vehicles are most likely the most common items requested/offered in this market segment. Its all about keeping the playing field level with the biggest difference being (brand) preference, price and performance (3P's).

Just stopped by Vista BMW and they had a x6 m carbon black with silverstone ii interior, piano black trim... It was very sharp looking. However the truck with 3 packages was stickered at 97k and the dealer had an item called AMV tacked on for an additional 20k. Total truck price was 117k

The X6 wheels do look better than the X5 version.

Not sure what that 20K markup was for.

FYI, Stevens Creek BMW has a white X5M. Didn't bother checking price, but it has tan interior and woodtrim. Very base looking.
White looks great in front, but is lacking in the rear.

For the dealership owners ego.
