Good deal? New 2010 X5M
Brand new black on black (30 miles) with MSRP 98K.
Can pick it up for 79K. No damage history, CA car. Test drive and inspection done by me. It looks good. I've heard the '11 X5M can be had for 7-8 off MSRP with special financing?? Appreciate any feedback about this potential deal. |

Sounds like a good deal, but have to wonder what's up with the car. I have seen left over 2010 M's around but usually strange color combo's black on black is about as normal as it comes and for it to be sitting on a lot for 6 months with only 30 miles seems a bit unreal.. |

I'm pretty critical and looked it over well. Had a bad experience with a "repaired " new car (lot/delivery damage) in the past. This black X5M is loaded, except for driver assistance package, as far as I can tell. Still had the plastic protectant over the foot rest and parts of the interior. tires still had stubble over the driving surface. I'm trying to get them down to 77K, but they rejected the offer. |
If the car has no issues, it is an awesome deal IMO.

Is there anyway to check if it has had any engine issues/repairs, there are quite a few of us that have had engine problems on new Ms within the first few days or weeks. Our cars are stuck in dealers while they play but cannot fix the issues. |
I've had HUD for years in my corvettes. Nice technology, but I don't use it much. It really doesn't take much effort to look at the dash board gauges, does it? I don't consider it a "must."
Not much can go wrong in 30 miles, but I have heard of damaged cars sitting unsold waiting on repairs. This M has a clear history and my investigation revealed no damage/repairs/issues. Anybody have ideas about the best deals on the 11's? are the engine issues resolved? |

Let me rephrase. Must for me. I use it because i can't see the top of the gauges where i have the steering wheel. It is really a safety issue for me for when im really moving, which is alot, I dont need to bend my head down and take my eyes off the road to see speed or gear. It's right there. Is it a requirement? No. Is it a luxury yes. Just like the soft close doors... Which is also a must... |

If it is the car you are looking for, The '10 seems like a good deal for a new car and you save the first year depreciation hit. IF it isn't, I would pass and get exactly what you want in an '11. You'll regret it later if you take the great deal on a car that isn't what you are looking for. I got $6k off my '11 with 2 minutes of haggling, sure I could have got more off but I like to let them make a bit of margin so they value my business if anything goes wrong and they need to step up to resolve something with BMW for service.
