Need we say more?

X5M is a relative "bargain" in this comparison with Benz costing 109k and Porsche 149k! Not sure why they included the jeep.

In person the Monte Carlo blue is simply gorgeous. None of the pictures really do it justice.

Decided on all the options? Now that you have seen 2013 in person.

digitaljok 07-01-2012 08:07 PM

Is this from the latest issue of C&D? They did an almost identical lineup in the Jan 2010 issue of the X5M, Cayenne Turbo S, SRT8, and RR Sport Supercharged: 2010 BMW X5 M vs. 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged, 2009 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S – Comparison Test – Car and Driver

Loved my Monte Carlo X5M, but these scores are just opinions.
After driving a Cayenne Turbo for 2 months, my opinion on the relative scoring for: Comfort, Interior Styling, Transmission, Performance, Steering Feel, Brake Feel, Handling, and Ride would be heavily skewed toward the Porsche.

True. All of the comparisons are just an opinion, but they do compare them for a reason so that there is slightly less subjectivity and more objectivity.

All in all though, if you are happy with the Turbo then that's all that matters to the owner.

Again, BMW wins, and is the 'best value'.

Good for us. :)

I read my copy of C/D today...good for the X I guess, even at $100Gs.

The Pepper turbo may be one of the marketing dept's whiteboard/gross margin winner of the year: $109G base price, $150G sticker, including $9Gs worth of brake upgrades, $1100 'door sills', a $4G stereo and a $350 painted key fob... :wow:
Where do I get in line to buy the $100G and especially the $150G suv? :D

iMpower 07-04-2012 08:24 PM

:iagree: the pricing seems excessive. I guess their marketing department figured that the owners will pay for those things no matter the cost.

Would i be able to install those 2012 headlights into my 2011 x5m?

2012 or 2013 headlights? I asked my dealer about installing 2013 headlights on my 12' X5M and was told that it would be cost prohibitive to do it...also if I remember right the headlight itself costs 1900$/piece.

iMpower 07-06-2012 11:45 AM

Yep, the LED option is $1900

stlcity 07-06-2012 09:38 PM

LeMans posted that BMW is supposed to release a retrofit LED headlight kit for the X5Ms that dont have it...hopefully it wont cost a fortune. I'm excited...cant wait :D

on that note: I have the color of the new calipers(blue). Might get mine painted this week. The custom installer is making the "M" decal to go on the calipers. Will post pictures once it is done.

Just re-read the article - the X5M is on my wish list. I'm at 68k on my 06 4.8is - too soon to flip but it's no longer as new and crisp as it was just 10k miles ago. Have to investigate the exhaust options, from what it sounds like the 4 pot exhaust sound doesn't seem too interesting. Sound is an important factor for me, part of the overall experience.

Do you guys believe their 0-60 4.0 sec number on a stock X5M? Seems like they were driving downhill. Every single review for the X5M I read so far had 4.5s to 4.7s listed.

C&D always has quicker 0-60s...I believe its rolling start. Their 0-60 for M5 is 3.7 sec.
