X5M Knock @ High Rpms/under load increased oil consumption/engine malfunction light

Have a 2012 x5m with Renntech 93 octane tune, K&N air filer, regular oil changes, now at 63000 miles.

Beginning to notice an engine knocking, tinkering type noise at high rpms, usually between shifts in excess of 100mph.

Also noting an increased oil consumption, no smoke and no leaks though... If racing or heavy acceleration above 115mph, it will throw a code and enter 'engine malfunction reduced power' mode. happens more with regular octane than 93 octane

Dealer codes showed a cracked #3 spark plug (replaced all and still have problem) and low turbo boost pressure, may have a vacuum leak causing predetonation, or may have oil detonating in the combustion chamber...probbbably not a good thing. any one have any experience with this or can offer any input?http://www.xoutpost.com/images/smilies/dunno.gifhttp://www.xoutpost.com/images/smilies/yikes.gif

How the hell do you have 63k on a 2012?

Leave it running for 15 minutes and then stomp on the gas and see if theres a cloud of smoke?

How bad from normal is the oil consumption?

no cloud of smoke, i think it may have to do with running bad gas now the dealer is saying turbos failed the turbo test- seals maybe...who know, low boost pressure codes, 69.700miles theyre contacting bmw corporate, they quoted $6700 for new turbos, ...guy from renntech suggested replacing the stock turbos with 67mm ones if thats the case...unless bmw offers them for a discount

contacted bmw corporate, was getting an engine malfunction on above 115mph...dealer replaced left turbo for free, it failed their turbo test. oil consumption slowed down, mph went back up, no more knocking...must have been a gasket or seal on the boost side? no clue....just hit 80000 miles, they dropped a new trans in for free too, wasn't staying in 4th 5th or 6th. brand new now! cant keep it under 100 on the highway, so smooooooth

MY2012 started production in Late May, Early April 2011 so he could have over 3 years on the X5. My wifes 2012 was entered production in 2nd week of April 2011.

Ya it's nuts, same problem was coming back- they replaced all 8 injectors for me, runs great now. picked up the car the end of July 2011, I have 83400 miles on it today. Still smokes nearly anything on the road. Everyone should have one of these things
