14 Months Later, I still miss my E53

Havent posted in a while -- I miss all of you guys. To those who I was close with, nice to see you again. To the new comers, Welcome..

Anyway, its been about 14 months since i sold my 2004 4.4i.... Best car I have ever had, I had it for 5 years. I replaced it with a fully loaded X3 M Sport 35i. While the X3 is a great car (and similar in dimensions), it lacks the purity that the E53 had. The clunk of the heavy doors, the growl of the V8, and the way it felt doing 80..errr 110 mph on the highway.

So now i'm stuck with an X3 Lease (which actually was a very good deal--7% off MSRP). So i have ultimately decided to order an F80 M3, and put my X3 on Swapalease.com....

Am i crazy? It is impossible to go back to the E53, or anything comparable. So i'm doing an entire switch into an ///M car... :dunno:

Came in to like this thread.

E70 X5M CPO.

Get yourself out of the leasing cycle man.

Wait, didn't you already order it?

RB. Yes sir, it is ordered. Production number and all.... Just waiting for BMW to give me a production date....

As for the CPO X5M. I actually did explore that option. Anything in good condition with decent warranty time left is still $65K. Buying a pre-owned, old body style car for 65k is just.. bleh...

I was considering buying a CPO E93 M3 'vert and getting a winter beater... or something like that.

Thanks!

Does anyone here have experience with swapalease? I've always bought my car, moving from a lease is quite an experience :stickpoke

This is my current ad. I'm sure its a very good deal:

I miss mine too. There's a sick Estoril/Alcatara 4.6is on Bimmerforums right now. Wish I could pull it off but I am focusing on my house.

Naz, aren't you like 25? F80 is a big coin... congrats on whatever it is you're doing!

I hate seller's remorse. Sometimes it never goes away.

:iagree: I sold my E46 M3 a couple years ago. Buyer still keeps in touch and tells me how much he loves the car.. He doesn't know that i spent 6 1/2 hrs on my back working underneath the car on jack stands to install a SSK... Is it weird to look forward to flushing driveline fluids and valve adjustments? Water pumps goes? Time for cooling overhaul :) FCAB going bad? time for full suspension refresh and coilovers.

You got it, i'm 24 actually.

I know the 4.6is youre talking about (i think my buddy's actually....)

As far as big coin, i can justify it very well. I own my house (its a two family, so i have rental income from my tenants every month), and I don't waste money on rent every month. Paying the mortgage is a lot more gratifying than writing a rent check.

Btw, i work in acquisitions for a private equity commercial real estate investment firm. -- I did a deal out in the Minneapolis area last year
