Not very happy with Trucktec brand door carrier: beware

I had a previous post about my rear door carrier woes but wanted to tell everyone to beware of the Trucktec brand of door carrier from FCP. I had to reuse the old cable(I had the carrier in and out about ten times) to get it to work but not before I bought a new lock mechanism(BMW). I going to call FCP tomorrow and will report back on what they say. Pdddd off!

I would always transfer the OE cable when using knock off carriers. I've only had to replace one of the 3-5 that I've repaired, one other I opted to replace vs repair for expediency, but I repaired it and installed the fixed one in my car (put a knock off copy into wife's car with original cable, fixed her OE part and put in my car then I put her fixed one in my car but swapped the OE cable.

The OE cables are ∞ better than the crap from China but the frame is nearly identical.

Thanks for the info. I used your zip tie method and the counterweight ground off on my front door. and this one.

Very good. I was so mad when I realized I broke my carrier just because the design tried to block me from lifting the handle. The new models dry fire like *all cars ever*

The Driver Front and Rear carriers were replaced with Trucktek by the PO as he gave me all the receipts.

The fitment is definitely off on both door handles, huge gap between the lock cylinder cover and the handle itself.

Both open up fine but beside the cable issue on the Trucktek, can the fitment/alignment be improved or should I just switch to Genuine OE BMW?

I've had to use a Dremel to fine tune the fire even with OE BMW parts. (Swapped my wife's OE part into my car and the door handle wouldn't drop all the way down).

Fine tune the size with a razor knife, file/Dremel. More importantly, make sure the spring doesn't poke out too far and scratch the glass.

Any time you have the part out I recommend cutting off the nub that causes most of the failures in the first place.

If you still have the original BMW part you can most likely repair it for almost free: repaired with steel wire it will be stronger than new.

Upload pics of the fitment issues. I've always had to fine tune the rubber seal
