6 Stack CD player not working
Hi , just wondering if anyone has had any issues with their 6 stack C player not working ? You load the stacker assembly with the CD's and install it into the player . As you watch it the stacker selects 1 at a time inserts the CD and then removes it then goes to the next one and so on .It then stops and the message on the head unit says no CD's are inserted.Anyone else had any issues ?
Thanks |
Sounds like a disc read fault - dirty lens or failed laser. Haven't had any issue with my X5 CD-Changer but I've seen this often in other units.
You could try cleaning the lens as a first step... opening up the player, not using a lens cleaning disc. |
I replaced my 6cd stacker with a Grom Audio unit. Instead of a CD I just rip my music onto a USB drive and make six folders that I place my music in and that I can control from the MID.
If you want to buy my old 6 CD stacker unit hit me up with an offer. Shipping will be from 60616 USA. |
What brand is your old 6 CD stacker unit? Does it display artist and song info?

Thanks Bro , I will let you know how I go . Regards Darren

Good day!
It's a typical problem in these changers, caused by old grease. My even didn't eject a stack. I've got mine repaired, just by getting rid of old grease and putting a new one. Disassembly - clean - new grease on friction parts - assembly - enjoy = PROFIT! If links are allowed here, I can put a guide here with pictures. |

Mine was doing the same. It won't eject the stack. Removed it all together and replaced with Grom. :) |
Hi there , well I have pulled it apart cleaned off all the old grease and re-lubricated. I have put it semi back together to do some testing first. The mechanism seems to work fine picking up the first CD feeds it in spins for a very short period of time and them re-ejects and feeds in the next one and the same thing happens for the next 5 discs. Shouldnt the disc be spinning continually after it is fed in as it seems to get a start on and then stops, when it stops it ejects the disc and puts in the next one ? Any ides what I could do next ?
Thanks |

It could also be that the disc is upside down? Just chucking that out there... ;) Are the discs factory (silver) discs or burnt (yellow-ish or green-ish)? Some players won't play burnt discs well (or at all). |
Hi there, disks are up the right way and are factory disks, the disk is supposed to spin quite fast isnt it when it is in the player ? If it doesent does that indicate laser ?.
Maybe I will try and give it a better clean ? |
Hey man if you want I ripped out the CD changer in mine to put an aftermarket amp in its place. No clue if it works I haven't used CD's in a decade. But you're welcome to it if you wanna pay the shipping.
oops.. noticed you're in Austrailia. Nevermind lol |
Thanks for the offer FRod1981 I have purchased another locally probably cheaper than the shipping to Aus , anyway thanks again.

Yeah that’s what I figured. Good luck!
