For the Canadians here - check your local Canadian Tire for sales, cheap oil

I don't know if this is all Canadian tire stores, just the Montreal ones, or just my local one, but there are some crazy good prices.

In particular, Castrol full synthetic 5w30 oil, the one recommended by BMW, on sale $28 for 5 liters! That is fully HALF PRICE. Just over $5/liter.

I also picked up a 20oz demolition hammer with graphite handle for $6, and a 36" demolition bar (big crowbar) for $13. There were also all kinds of automotive tool sets on sale for as much as 70% off.

Worth checking out of your local store had these prices going on.

Oh yeah, I also bought 16 household 40W-equivalent LED bulbs because they were on sale for $2 a bulb.

I always watch for oil to go on sale at Canadian tire. I buy the Quaker State 5w20 though. Conventional and synthetic go on sale at different times and I stock up on each when they do and then blend 50/50.

Just a heads up about this Castrol EDGE Synthetic for $27.99. Link here.

If this is the one you are using, it does not meet BMW LL-01 standards. This is a 5W30 for domestic brands.

The only oil Crappy Tire sells at most locations that is acceptable for BMW is the 0W30 or 0W40. If you look on the bottle in the front, it will say EURO and not US.

I always go with Castrol Edge 0W-40.
