Rice or Not
Up close, IMO does not look good

If only it could be dark 24/7 cause I think from a distance, it would look sharp

Everything just short of the corner turns will be deleted

I personally like the "traditional DEPO" ones better than the LED amber turn -


Although, they are $120 or so less if you want the "new look" LED turns -

Could always buy the halogen Depos separate for $250-275 and buy the LED rings $180 from fishcake321, then just retrofit your projector of choice, something TSX or FXR size should work well -

The Irony. Literally in spring of 2018, I put in the trash a huge box - 2 OE Hella E53 headlights, misc. light parts , etc. This was my backup to a backup per se.

Now I start from ground zero, to some degree

I hear you on that - I tossed my OE E53 lights, 2003 made, because of the "permaseal" which was near impossible to get open without hours and hours of baking and labor and razor blades, back in 2014.

Now I go on Lightwerkz website and he is opening Permaseal lights with a needle tipped chemical applicator, Morimoto or TRS came out with a chemical that literally eats the permaseal adhesive so they can be opened.

Really wish I would have had them now that the permaseal can be addressed easier - I still have a slight rotation issue which is barely noticeable on the road, from my retrofit. I have EvoXR projectors though and the better optics and xenon high beam were well worth the effort, using the popular "Spyder" housings which can be found on Ebay (they look like facelift lights)

You should take a trip to Lightwerkz in Oakland NJ - dude knows his stuff and the game is much different than 5 years ago, but he is definitely not the "cut a hole and JB weld it" type, they always use mounting screws and nuts on the bowls and double and triple check alignment before - he aligns well off or on the truck, marking the reference points on the housing and he told me 99.9% of the time its spot on, save for your adjustments.

Hard to explain I'll have to post up a pic, but Lightwerkz did tell me when he was doing the install that the aftermarket housings on the Spyder lights were not as precise as OE and he knew without finishing the install I might have a slight rotation issue, its never bothered me enough as on the road its barely noticeable unless you know what you're looking for.

Almost like when looking out at the beam pattern at 25-30 feet the DS projector is twisted a bit counterclockwise, around 2:00 if you will, while the PS projector is about 3:30 - I've used the adjusters to take most of it out, so its about 90% and drivable, but one of those things -

I may send the pair back to him and pay him for the upgrade to the new EvoXR 2.0 along with replacing the ring (I'm getting too old to spend half a day hemming and hawwing with lighting adjustments and baking headlights), and hopefully he can adjust them to have the rotation be 100%

The light housings have bolt on mounts for the Hella E55 style projector so it was different than a traditional install using screws on the reflector

Depo's sound like the way to go if you are "starting fresh" - I know the rings have proved reliable and are super bright - its just I don't think the xenon projector that comes in them is very good, would rather have something better in there

Jsoto I see you live in NYC. I have some used leftover parts if you want for good cheap price.

I have 2 D2S Morimoto 3" projectors, 2 Mishimoto OE Ballast and Osram or maybe Philips D2S bulbs if you are interested.

so nice you older guys have a solution for your headlights. Us facelift trucks have to deal with crappy looking aftermarket or just spend loot for xenons. My lenses are starting to cloud and they need to be polished and clear bra put over them to keep them from hazing again.

Guess I'll stick to my halogens for a while.

IBG - they have chems that will work to soften up the glue
