Fuel Filter

I have a 4.6iS with a build date of 07.02. I have noticed the fuel filters as of 04.02 no longer have the fuel pressure regulator attached to them. Where did they move the fuel pressure regulator to as of 04.02 builds?

AFAIK the newer type has the regulator built inside the filter unit.

The vacuum diaphragm for the regulator wasn't used so I imagine that is what you are looking at and referring to not being there.

They changed to an internal regulator in the fuel filter. The vacuum line attaches to it. I just replaced mine this weekend and cut it open to inspect. So I can absolutely confirm it’s there.

Thanks for this information! I will probably go with a Hengst fuel filter from fcp...

I did the Hengst. The original I removed was identical to to Mahle and Mann. The Hengst is slightly different but no fitment issues.
Obvious if you compare them on ECS or FCP.
My only recommendation is to have some vacuum tubing. The connection for the regulator was rotted. Started crumbling as I removed it. Just need 2” of it.
