Rear headrests
Does anyone know if the rear headrests can be removed.
I have tried to pull them up, but unlike the front seat rests they do not have the little button to push in. :dunno: :dunno: :) |
i i havent tried myself...is there any particular reason you want to take them off?

They get in the way of my sons ever expanding car seat. The upper part of the booster seat expands up to support him, but the angle of the headrests stop his seat laying flat against the seat back.I end up the seat 'bridging' across the headrest and putting a large indentation in the leather as time goes on.

I see. makes sense. I dont have to worry about that yet... jejeje.

the 2002 manual says,
"Removal and installation - rear To remove the head restraint, pull it outward with a firm movement. To install it, press it down firmly." good luck |
I had the same problem in my 4.8. My daughters car seat was causing and indentation on the center headrest. I just pulled the headrest straight up and it came out with out any problem. No little button needed.

Thanks to all, I will try to ' pull ' it out when I get home later.

I have a '06 and can't seemed to get the rear head retraints out either. I start by bringing them all the way up and then pulling. It doesn't feel 'right' so I've stopped before something breaks.
My reason for removing the center HR is different. I have this neat clear thin piece of plastic that works like a fish eye. When properly placed, it alows you to almost see within 1 foot of the rear bumper. Really makes parking easier. |
Just yank it out :D

My 2006 comes out with some force
