Dont know about LandRover, but it seems Rover have gone bust here in U.k.!Unless Tony Blair comes up with a rescue plan, its over!!!!!!!!I am already having problems getting spare parts for customers cars!
I know that they have pushed the LandRover upmarket but comparing it to any X5 is ridiculous! Its more comparable to your Landcruisers,Mitsubishis, some Jeeps and even their own Range Rovers.....

why do they base the ALG retained value on a 4.4, but do the rest of the comparison on a 3.0? also, when they compare tire sizes they list the BMW's as 232/65R17. is there such a thing? i'm assuming they meant 235/65R17.

I noticed that too... that's indicative of Ford's meticulous attention to detail

I test-drove LR3 before I decided to buy X5. LR3 was pretty good and heavier than Range rover. I don't how many people know this, Range rover owner has to change break pad once a year (average). Well that's not cheap at all. Guess what, BMW will change our break with warranty (no charge) :) I will extend my warranty pretty soon because I have feeling that my X5 will be with me for a long time.

Interestingly, the LR3 was designed when BMW owned the company, and BMW has agreed to sell engines and other components to LR/Ford for the duration of that model.

So, in a way, you were right. BMW designed it and is a vendor for parts.

No it's not. The LR3 is a COMPLETELY from scratch Ford design. There's not 1 BMW part involved.

OK, I think I was mixing up the Range Rover and the LR3.
