Fitch fuel catalyst
 

Has anyone tried one of these Fitch units in their X? Suppose to upgrade the fuel octane rating.

I found I can run a 89 octane without ill effects, but thought this could provide premium results with the 87 octane. I tried running 87 octane (by mistake) in the X5 and it did not like it.

Read where someone had chipped their vehicle and mapped it for premium fuel after they added the Fitch unit. They did not have any issues when running low octane fuel. ie, no ping and good response.

does the fitch fuel catalyst work ?

how about you just put in the recommended octane. 91 or better. better performance and fuel economy for an extra $4.00 per tank.

Thanks for these...it doesn't look like the product claims are valid. What has been experienced isn't very substantial in savings/performance.

I suppose even if it did work it would take about 50 fill ups to break even anyway....which in my case would be about 2-3 years.

OK... I'm convinced... I'll start putting the good stuff in :thumbup:
