Remote Key Not Working :(
Can somebody please try and help me out, I am basically going crazy already with this key. In short i woke up one morning, the key was working in the morning then later that day it just stopped working on its own. I tried the reprogramming methods and NOTHING seems to work :(
Anyone have any ideas for me to try? :( I really don't think its the key itself because its a new key. its maybe 2 months old... :/ |
The key charges while its in the ignition..maybe it was overused without being charged enough? i have no idea, but thats the only tihng that came to my head
|
how can that be? if im driving around with it all the time ? :(

hmm i guess thats not it. let me do a quick search |
It may be that the key you have will not accept a charge?
In any case, when trying to reset the key be certain you are using instructions that are appropriate for your year and model of X. |

there seems to be a lot of good suggestions there. try some of them out? |
If you find a solution, please let me know. I have the same post in the X3 forum. Everything works normally and fine except remote operation on both keys, which stopped working on the same day.

this is very odd and annoying, i have tried everything I can imagine so far. Other then the keys themselves what is the other remote module that accepts the information sent from the key? Is it that red security dot under the rear view mirror?

Happened to me before. Key was fine one day, then all of a sudden it stopped working. Dealer concluded that the key wasn't charging from the ignition. Guess it was a matter of time before it died. $200 bucks for a new key from BMW.

Look at alternative methods for charging the key as a test.
