Been using the Motive Power Bleeder since 04 on all the EU cars I've owned. Very easy to use if you don't have a friend to help you pump the pedal.

I bought mine from BavAuto. They are great.

Its Ok. Mine as well as a few of my friends motive bleeders have broken from a small amount of usage. Its great when its working...

Interesting. How often did you use it?

I've used mine numerous times. Maybe it's the climate? Did the o-ring on the pump break?

I've used mine innumerable times (have a race car). Never an issue.

I know the owner of Motive (and have raced against him). He bought the company mid-stream so those with problems may have had an older item. He's upgraded things since he took over.

Regardless, I like mine and use it all the time.

I made one myself using a garden sprayer for about $10.

I have used mine about a dozen times on 5 or 6 different vehicles. Worked great every time and more than pays for itself after one use.

So I made myself one from a Home Depot brand garden sprayer, pressure gauge and even modified it so it can accept a BMW (or other euros) reservoir cap and also one for a Chevy (and who knows what else for American makes).
See pics for parts.
Only thing to note is, the washer I used was a 1/2" and fits around the threaded portion of 1/4 MIP barbed connector (that goes into Reservoir cap.)

So now I can swap the clear tube/different car reservoir cap on the fly :)
