Rear Window will roll up but not down. I'm stumped.
I haven't been able to roll down the passenger side rear window for a few weeks now. I took apart the door panel and replaced the window motor thinking that was the issue. When I went to test it, it would roll down every 20 or so tries and roll back up with no problem. The regulator did not appear to have any damage at all and the motor did not seem to strain when going up or down. The drivers door switch as well as the passenger rear door switch have the exact same issues so I'm not totally convinced it's a switch issue. I'm not sure where to go from here. What do you guys think? TIA.

The clip that hold the window has broken off and is not pulling the window down. Open your door up and replace the clip. It's cheap. I had the same problem once.

Would that broken clip not allow the motor to cycle in any way? When the button is pressed in the down position there isn't any clicking or straining on the motor. I don't think the motor is getting any power when attempting to roll the window down. Any other thoughts? Is there a module that controls the windows?

Still no luck here. I tried replacing the master window switch and swapped the rear window switches to see if that was it. No go. Any other thoughts?

I'm experiencing the same problem, did you resolve this? I'm thinking it's the clips everyone is talking about?
|
it's either a relay that's going bad or the clips because those are the last 2 things that I haven't replaced. I'm going to try to find a relay because it seems to be an electrical issue.
|
if it was a relay why would it affect only one window and not all? I'm staring to think that the wires in the pulley system are getting jammed up or something. I also took the panel off but the "clips" do not look broken, that is if I'm looking at the right thing, do you know what the clips look like that everyone seems to be talking about? Thanks
