Does anyone else love the DSP audio system?
I feel like I am the only one on this board who loves the premium radio - I have an '02 X5 with DSP. I absolutely love the way it sounds (I've grown into it, I didn't like it originally coming from an Acura). Anyways I think the 10-speaker system (plus 2 small subs) sounds amazing and I'm scared to upgrade anything fearing it will get worse.

I'm with you on this. My last car was an E46 M3 with the HK system and it was crap - hardly any bass at all.
The DSP system isn't the last word in hi-end audio, but it's pretty decent for a car. |
I also am very happy with the sound of the DSP setup, have the room size and echo set just right to make my music sound awesome and dynamic. I did however replace the factory subs with a stealth box 8" sub pushed by a 300w amp, which was waaay worth it. That is one upgrade that you may think of if you want a bit more punch to the low end than you have now. The small pair of 6.5" OEM subs hit the tones, but have no "hit"... and I listen primarily to double bass drum riddled death metal so that wasn't gonna fly.

Were you all raised around a lot of loud noises? :nanana:
You can probably guess where I fall on the BMW audio system quality spectrum... |

not sure how you have it hooked up, but look into using a DC Choke to power the system / amp and iphone changer or whatever and a ground loop isolator on the audio cable. |
