New Car Smell

My parents bought a new car last week, comes fully loaded with that lovely fresh new car smell !

Anyone got any hints or tips on how to freshen up the X to bring it back to that state or close to it ?

tuff stuff cleaner by clorox for the carpets, that stuff rocks. you can use it on the plastic, wood and dash but would make sure that after you use it on anything leather/fake leather/ plastic/ vinyl that you put a protectant / conditioner over it so it doesnt dry out. then get a good leather conditioner, i have yet to find one that i completely swear by.

A good golf buddy of mine was in the new car/mostly used car biz for 30 years, and swore by this stuff, fwiw:
New Car Smell | New Car Scent & New Car Air Freshener

Much of that smell is from VOCs being emitted from the plastics, etc., and of course the new leather smell.

Uncle of my friend who likes that kind of stuff told me to use some kind of clay. He said that is smell of a Clay and I need to put it in the bucket and put the bucket in the car, then use (stuff they use in paint) something for it not to dry out.

I use the BMW leather conditioner, this is after using Lexol's suite of products for a long time (I still use Lexol leather cleaner and vinylex) but that product has a strong leather smell that evens out to a new car smell after about 3 days.

BMW's have a distinctive smell - partly from the leather, maybe from carpet material used. Doesn't seem to fade all that much with time - still smell it on my 11 year old E38. I use Griots or Lexol leather conditioner on all my cars about once a year to keep the leather conditioned - I think that makes a big difference.
