How To upgrade Hitch

Hey my hitch is all old and rusty looking. Has anybody ever painted or done something to it to make it look better.Attachment 55702

appears to be nothing more than surface rust. Hit it with a wire wheel, naval jelly or other rust eater, prime/paint/powdercoat/forget about it.
doesnt appear to be anything that would be structurally challenging in that picture |
