Looking for Nov or Dec Build slot for a 4.8
 

I'm hoping to find a build slot for a 4.8 before the end of the year. I'm in the Seattle area but would be willing to figure out something from an out of area dealer. Just moved here- 2 Person household with 1 car right now and Pacific NW Winter + my M3 not the greatest combo.

Did you talk to any local dealer in your area? What do they say? You can also ask the dealers on edmunds.com

Sorry to clarify - local dealers look like January is best build slot which would leave me getting a car at end of Jan early Feb

at that point, you are better waiting off until april.... when new features will be available.

FYI-- there is a "modification block" on all November and December production slots, so even if it is still in 111/112 status, you CAN NOT change the configuration of the car. If you want to order it to your specs, January production is the earliest that you can get.

What do you mean by "modification block"? Also, what do you mean by cannot change the configuration of the car? Do you mean that they are all manufacturer spec. and customers can't add or delete the option they want or don't want?

"modification block" means that you cannot modifiy car specs. ;) Buy what they have if you have not already spec'd the car by now. No changes to cars in production.

IMHO, there wouldn't be any new features to a new generation X5 after 6mos. of initially releasing it...

I think he means features like auto lift tailgate and some color/leather which will only start as of April 2007. See my custom page for more. ;)
