Brake dust and dirt on standard 18" wheels
1 Attachment(s)
Hi,
I've been watching this forum ever since I ordered the 3.0sd. We have now had it for around 5 weeks. However, the wheels would get coated in a heavy layer of brake and other dust within days. So I ran a few tests, and was so impressed with the results, I thought I'll register and share this information with others. I tried 4 products - 1) silicon based car wash, 2) wax base car polish, 3) the BMW supplied wheel cleaner/protector, and 4) Amour_all Wheel Protector. The 1st 3 items made virtually no difference, but the Amour_all wheel protector made a significant difference. I've driven for around 2 weeks now, and the wheels still look reasonably clean. unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the test areas on the one wheel. I sprayed the Amour_all Wheel protector on all wheels then, but appeared to have missed one small area. I've attached a photo of the area I missed (or give just a light spray), which is easily seen. Hope this helps anyone else with wheels that get coated in a dust within days. |
Welcome and thanks for the info.
