It was supposed to have been fixed by a programming update some time last year and you should be getting the latest at your local dealer anyway.

For '07s just make sure there are no creaks/rattles being a first-run year.

50k miles in 3 yrs....whew. If your ok with that then go for it.

I have an 07 4.8 with 50k on it right now and no major issues to date. I was mildly concerned when i leased it, given it was a first year. But wtf you never have the new hotness if you avoid all first year vehicles. Anyways you will be happy, it's one hell of a truck. CPO?

Any major service to be done?

CarsRmyVICE 05-09-2010 11:54 AM

Well if your asking me, the truck says I need a service in 8,ooo miles. All bmw's tell you when they want service lol I am not sure what that service requires. If you buy any vehicle with 50k on it you should expect to have some money set aside for repairs. Not range rover repair money but money none the less. I would say go CPO otherwise you could end up paying for anything under the sun. If your really interested call your local bmw dealers service dpt and tell them you just bought an e70 x5 with 50,000 and you plan on servicing it there. Then ask what major services you can expect to need in the next say 40,000 miles?
