On all my wheels the majority of the center bore is much bigger than the end that does the centering. I'm confident much more than the 0.8mm that needs to be removed from just the end.

Adapter plates exist that have 74.1mm on the hub side and 72.6mm on the wheel side. They are 20mm wide. You need longer wheel bolts of course but that should not be a deal breaker. (on Ebay longer bolts $3/pc and $30 per pair of plates, spend $120, wait 3 days and Bob's your uncle... :-)
I ran 87s on my E70 for a few months with these plates mounted and it looked great. |
That's a heck of an alternative. The 20mm spacer might even add to the look brought by the wheels.

Coding
I was today years old when I realized the power of Bimmercode [Expert] mode. I have successfully coded my 2018 X5 with VLD (Variable Light Distribution), Glare-Free High Beams (Anti-Dazzle Euro), and Rear Fogs.
Bimmercode has allowed me to do great things to my X5 to customize it, but the expert mode with the resources of the world wide web as aided me in some "dig me" items not normal to the regular bimmercode options. My 2018 X5 50i (with the latest software update from BMWNA which locked my DME and removed by BM3 tune) has KAFAS (connected drive front cameras), Adaptive LED headlights, and other such features that require the options above. I did have to purchase the Euro light switch for the rear fogs ($100 on ebay). I did not have to purchase ECE taillights to make this work. Just purchase the switch, and the rest is coding through Bimmercode Expert. I did not attempt ESYS because I'm not that smart :) You do not have to remove/disable the VO of 8S4 or 5AP before performing the coding below in Bimmercode Expert. Time for some routine service - Oil change and brake fluid flush. And I'll have Akebono pads installed all around since I'm within 10,000 miles of the original pads needing replacement. Dealer provided a 2021 X3 (G01 Model) loaner that has nice features, but I prefer the analog gauges and more spacious seating in the F15.

^I'm going to have to do brakes on ours soon as well. Rear pads are ~20% and the service nanny keeps reminding us service is due within 1100 miles (we've driven 10k miles and the nanny has been 3200 miles or less since we bought the X5).
Will do front/rear rotors/pads as cost is only ~$210 for everything from my usual brake vendor. You get the rear end fixed from the bump it suffered? |
