That is why I mentioned the generic code readers are not reliable for BMW.It may be :"IAT open circuit or short to ground" or it may be something else related to the IAT,but the generic scanner will say only "IAT sensor".
ARD is also correct about those matters.Modern car,German especially, can be viewed only as a system of components working together so the proper diagnosis could be made.
