Not a code or reader maven, but I rec'd a capable Indie with a good scan reader and some proprietary sub menu program(s)...
That method can narrow it down to a part or couple fixes vs the usual net menu or tree list of a half dozen things that might be the culprit.
Unless your local BMW dlr is your brother, that would not be my first stop to have repairs done...may be get your codes read and pay for the diagnostic there, and then get it repaired at an Indie, imo.
