By removing the clutch fan and relying only on aux fan you basically have only one layer of defense against overheating. Not to mention that aux fan primary role is not to cool the engine but to assist in cooling and for a/c purposes.
Also, how about this scenario: You're sitting in traffic and you aux fan craps out. You may have few minutes before engine decides that it had enough.

I am not talking about relying on the aux fan. My intention is to replace the mechanical fan between the engine and the radiator with another electric fan.
I want to eliminate the horsepower drain from the mechanical fan.
