Very helpful post !
However, I did find out what's going on with my front aux power -- it's dead. When I put a fuse in the correct spot in the rear (bottom fuse), it blows immediately. Using my ohm-meter, it seems that there is zero ohms between the positive and negative in the socket.
It seems that when I had my little travel coffee maker plugged into that spot, the connection got so hot that the solder must have melted at the back of the aux power socket and shorted out the thing. The fuse did its job, preventing a fire, but now I'm faced with getting the console apart and fixing the socket.
I'd used the coffee maker several times before and noted that the connection got hot, but didn't expect that it was this hot !
Now ... if anyone has any helpful hints on how to remove that part of the console, I'd appreciate them !
Dave.
