It's bittersweet for me to say this, but after a year of owning my X5, it's going to be gone next week! I just picked up a Tesla Model S yesterday and Tesla's third party trade in company is picking up my X5 on Monday. This community is great and extremely helpful, but I flat out HATE my X5. It is literally the worst car we've had (and we've both had a V10 M5 and M6).
But looking on the bright side, my horribly unreliable X5 wasn't a complete waste of time and money. I have learned so much about working on cars during this year of ownership. I have gone from letting dealerships and performance shops work on my cars exclusively to tackling most things myself (such as installing an ESS VT2-650 supercharger on my wife's car this weekend
).
Thank you everyone on here for all the help this past year! I'm sure I'll be back on this forum sooner than later as my wife is probably going to take the Tesla when the baby comes next year allowing me to get F1x X5/X6
).
Also a word of advice to everyone, don't be afraid to work on your car and if you're stuck on something don't be afraid to ask for help! If I managed to learn this much about cars in one year anyone can do it!
