I tried same. It's not too bad in disassembly, just mark the orientation. Also found on mine that the silver gear housing has two pegs / tabs that extend into the case and one of mine was snapped. The same EBay seller had the housing. Where I got stuck was figuring out how to remove the worm gear from the little electric motor. Without changing that mine still skipped a few gears but was much better:

I ended up buying one from junk yard that needed quick micro switch clip adjustment as the mirrors would fold close and then immediately reopen. (http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...lem-fixed.html). Powerfolding works great now and now vibrations in the mirrors dispite bad roads
