For my 2006 X5 3.0i, I simply open the fuse box near the firewall, removed the fuse controlling the HL washer, and lay the fuse there. I made a small label "HL washer fuse" and tape it to the fuse for future reference.

I don't miss the HL washer, many cars out there simply don't have this useless feature (useless to me, but useful for others).
Couldn't agree with you more cn90, they look four warts on the nose of my car...lol!
