Your 2006 e53 has RDC as the tire monitor system?? And with any type of retrofit...it will take time and money to gather all the correct parts etc (mostly from Europe). You can find many of the part nbrs if you pull up the Euro side of the part database (realoem or bmwfans.info).

As you can see in the image, not only does the "following cars" illuminate...there's an extra icon for the green cruise control...as well as special icons that appear in the instrument cluster display. You will definitely need the ACC sensor which is mounted in the front bumper...and different cruise control buttons that allow you to activate the system...as well as the fuses etc...and possible ZCS coding since the ABS system will also be involved.

Again, your 2006 doesn't have the Flat Tire Monitoring system that uses illuminates the button down below the IHKA?



From 4/04 build date...the Flat Tire Monitoring sytem uses the yellow tell-tale light that illuminates in the button below the IHKA:
