Hi BestValueStore- I am not sure that is true for these cars. I have owned several Japanese cars that had 105k mile service interval on the belts and went that long with no problem. If you have a v8 x5 with 100k-150k you would be well advised to have the timing overhauled - new chains and guides - as the guides wear causing chain failure or oil pump failure
