on the e70 the angel eye socket is open to the front of the light, it is actually the inner projector, while on an e9x, the angel eye holder in concealed behind the cornering light and is fully enclosed.
the E9x also has the dimmer outter ring issue, but not as drastic as the e70 since the e70 has a massive outter ring.
