It is the same software used by the dealer. Note that the software takes a lot of memory. It is windows based and runs best on XP. Many of us have a laptop dedicated to the software. I find this software to have quite a long learning curve. There is a forum dedicated to help users and there several here that can help. I use it so seldom I never get proficient. I don't find it intuitive at all. Most the the aftermarket scanners don't read all of the codes you will need. I am not familiar with the one you purchased. I only go to reading error codes when all shade tree engineering troubleshooting is exhausted as they can be very misleading.

I suggest you purchase the Bentley BMW service manual if you plan on much DIY.
That cable came with my BMWhat package I just received... wonder if I could just load INPA or DIS on a lappy and it would work with the cable I have.
