I had the bull bar on my X5 last year. I had mixed feelings about it, but decided just to take it off. It mounted onto the tow-hooks. Be careful with the auction sites, because the one I bought didn't fit correctly. It took a lot of elbow grease to get it to fit. It came chrome, but I just plasti-dipped it black and it worked pretty well. I'll post pictures soon
