The oil issue was resolved. Frozen CCV indeed. Replaced the CCV, oil separator, and oil cap as well as the spark plugs. No issues since, but the car did need a jump after a couple of days sitting while it was being worked on.

We haven't been in the negatives since the week of this post, so I can't comment on the battery issue. It has started up every morning down to 13 deg F. Could have been related to fouled spark plugs from all the oil?
