He has an 2004 X5 4.4 which would be the N62 V8 engine...this is a totally different animal versus the M62TU V8...and has it's own set of issues (like intermediate levers) instead of timing chain guide issues.

So don't scare him with timing chain guides...it doesn't apply in this case.
