Unfortunately the state of Illinois is "micro managing" the "shall issue" policy.
The permits ONLY allow residents to carry in the issuing county, if you don't get a Cook County permit, you can't carry in Chicago.
Reciprocity law now allows out of state permit holders to "car carry" handguns in Illinois.
I travel quite a bit in the X, and keep a close eye on what states allow vehicle/carry firearms with a TX permit.
