Driving the X5 hard has literally been one of my few joys the last few weeks. The snow is getting overwhelming and I'm running out of places to put it smh. Hope no one else is dealing with this shit.

As far as breaking things goes - I recently installed two genuine front Axles, serviced both differentials, the transmission, and the transfercase (with original fluids and the trans with a complete mechatronic service), and inspected everything thoroughly. I knew the winter would be a brutal one so I took steps to prevent any issues. So far it was a success minus a frozen level sensor which required resetting the system.
