It is amazing for 5000l b, but it is more like 5500. Many people that have never been in X5 got scared the first time I give them a ride. The way it accelerates, corners and brakes, the overall feel of it, is probably better than the 95% of the [non-BMW] cars on the road. My instrument cluster ticking inside over 60 mph only adds emotion to the whole experience
