Adult dogs who attack family members while unprovoked are bad news, this is what I assumed happened. Adult dogs that feel they are "alpha" in a home are "hard wired" for that behavior, this is a situation where an "old dog CAN'T learn the new trick".

People who bring aggressive adult strays and/or abused/neglected dogs into a home have a ticking time bomb.
