And don't forget exchange rate. And then you can throw in tyre disposal fee plus fitting charges...

And you get NO local support if you have a problem with the tyre, nor do you get any warranty (void outside USA, not honoured in Aus as it is not a locally distributed tyre).

Then you have the problem of what if you need one or two tyres in a hurry, and can't really wait the 2 to 3 weeks for these things to be delivered from the USA.

Should I go on?

The funny thing is, you guys rant on about how you are happy for people to make their own choices, but then deride the very choices that other people make if they are not the same as your own???

FWIW Tagx5, if I were running a vehicle at constant high speeds or high load situation, it might be a different choice of tyre. Then, I wouldn't run "normal" road tyres on the track either, but that's my choice. But when you have a speed limit of 110km/h nationally, most roads posted at 100km/h or less... You're comparing track work to travel on public roads. Are you deluded?

Oh, and FWIW - does everyone use their vehicles the same?

That guy who converted his X5 into a rock crawler - would you suggest HE use super high performance tyres?

What about me - mine is used as a towing vehicle - mainly under high weight loading (full load, towing a 2500kg caravan) and at comparatively moderate speeds (90km/h generally). It also spends a lot of time on gravel roads. Do you really think that your super high performance tyres are suitable for that usage? If so, you have obviously never driven on fast gravel, with high performance road tyres - it borders on dangerous.
