Anytime you lock the car with the remote key or from the driver's door exterior lock...you set the DWA system (plus the double-lock feature of the central locking system.

If you lock the vehicle using the central locking button on the center console...or from any other method (like manually pushing the door lock pins down from inside the vehicle)...the vehicle is in "single-lock" and the DWA alarm siren system is NOT set.

The trick to over come is the driver's door LOCK-OUT feature...which means that the driver's door will not lock until it's closed. This means that if you close the driver's door, then from one of the passenger doors...either manually lock each door or press the central lock button on the center console...when you shut which ever passenger door you were standing in...the vehicle will be securely locked...but the DWA alarm siren system WILL NOT be activated.

But make sure that you have the key in your pocket or hand when you do this...especially if you are a one key only owner....because this is an easy way to unconsciously lock yourself out of the car if not paying attention where you have the car key.

This is why you always let passengers remaining in the car...lock the vehicle themselves using the central lock button or door pins...instead of you locking the car with your remote etc. It will allow them to remain secured in the vehicle, the DWA alarm siren system won't be initiated...plus they can still exit the vehicle if necessary by pulling twice on the door handle. If you lock the car with them inside with the remote or from the driver's door lock cylinder...it will set the DWA alarm and the IMS will arm after 30 seconds and set off the alarm as soon as someone left in the car makes a move...plus the vehicle is DOUBLE-LOCKED and they won't be able to open the doors to get out of the car.
